January is nearly over, but this month seems to have packed a year of dynamic energy into just four weeks! There are many predictions and readings from astrologers, philosophers, and visionaries, who are speaking of the power this year carries for transformation. It seems the theme is “Buckle up Baby! It’s going to be a wild ride!” I can feel the current of evolution taking Humanity into new and unknown seas. It’s exciting!
As we enter this first New Moon cycle of 2025, it’s a great time to discern what your intentions are, what your desires are for this new year, as well as, this turning of ages. There are many ways to do this, such as, vision boarding, creating ritual, or visioning and feeling into what your purpose is in this year.

A few years ago, I shared that I like to dabble in numerology. As the new calendar year begins, I calculate the Universal Year and my personal numbers, using them as a guide to navigate and integrate the energies of the world with my own.
There are many different descriptions of the energies associated with numbers and the calendar months, as well as ways to calculate the root numbers.
For this New Moon, I’m going to refer to the numerology work of Louise Hay and her book Colors and Numbers, as well as other ascribed meanings for numbers that I’ve learned from a variety of workshops, books and personal experience. Below you’ll find an explanation of how to calculate the Universal Year number and your personal year number, and then a corresponding brief description of the energies of the numbers.
To calculate the Universal year, add the numbers of the year together and reduce down to a single number. So, 2025 is 2+0+2+5=9. We’re in a Universal Year 9. The energy of 9 can be described as completion, humanitarian, expansion and universal love. It’s time to let go of the remnants of old ways of being and begin stepping into a new paradigm. Endings and completion tend to be turbulent. Remember who you are and practice keeping yourself connected and grounded, daily.

To determine your personal year number, add your birth date, birthday month and the universal year together, for example:
23 (birth date) + 12 (month, December) + 9 (Universal Year) = 23 +12+9
Breaks down to, 5 (2+3) plus 3 (1+2) plus 9 or 5+3+9; further breaks down to, 17…then, 1 + 7 = 8, for a personal year of 8. (Or 23+12+9=44…4+4=8. 44 is a ‘master number’. Many Numerologists will keep the double, or master number instead of breaking it down to a single digit. The master numbers, 11,22, etc., carry a more evolved vs personal vibration—but that’s a discussion for another time.)
Once you’ve determined your personal year number, refer to the descriptions below of the corresponding energies. As always, use your discernment to see how the description of the energies fit for you. I’ll put the key word Louise Hay ascribes to the number first, followed by other “positive” descriptions; this is by no means a complete list.

1-Beginnings; Independent; Pioneering
2-Cooperative; Creative; Harmonious
3-Enjoyment; Optimistic; Self-expression
4-Practical; Self-discipline; Persistent
5-Change; Resourceful; Adventurous
6-Responsibility; Peacemaker; Nurturing
7-Faith; Intuitive; Contemplative
8-Achievemnt; Leadership; Self-motivated
9-Completion; Expansion; Compassionate

After you calculate your personal number for this year, I encourage you to meditate on the energies of that number, and how it may be influenced by the energies of the Universal Year number.

My personal number this year is a five. Five carries the energies of change, expanded boundaries, embracing the unconventional and cultivating a strong, vital force within. The Universal Year of nine, will affect all of us with energies of expansion, of completion and making room for the new to come in. I expect that my consciousness will be expanded in ways that will delight and surprise me. While there may be some discomfort with change, I know that I will be given everything I need to thrive as things fall away, making room for new and different ways of being. Buckle up, indeed!
Numerology is very layered and nuanced. This is a very, very basic description to assist with visioning an overall tone for the year ahead. I wish you an enjoyable and enlightening experience with your numbers.

I’m going to ask a favor. If you find my work to be of value to you, please forward it to someone who you think may also enjoy it.

With great appreciation and love,
Deborah

December 30th 2024 New Moon

The last New Moon of 2024…or first one for the new season of returning light! The moon will be new at 2:26 pm Pacific and Full on January13th, also at 2:26 pm Pacific. All dates/times are from https://www.timeanddate.com please check their website for your local times.

This holiday season and this year, seemed to fly by in a flash. I’m experiencing time in waves, not linear motion. Like an accordion; compression/rapid and then drawn out/slow. I’m having ample practice to stay grounded, open and discerning. What an exciting time to be here!

While this New Moon is at the end of December 2024, to me, it carries the energy of the New Year. I’m reviewing and closing out the old year, gleaning the gold from lessons and experiences I’ve had; clearing the way for new thought, cleaner emotions and compassionate action. I’m focusing on building the world I want to live in instead of the world that is exposing itself, day by day, as false or unreal.

What have you been doing to stay in your best personal rhythm? Is it time to shake up your routine and inject something new into your daily or monthly practices?

I still like to set intentions and ask my highest self to reveal to me what I need to know at the new moon, to be manifested and given gratitude at the full moon. For me, this can take on different rituals. Sometimes I go outside and sit under the dark sky, allowing my consciousness to slip into the Other World, where I can consult with my Allies in shamanic fashion. At other times, I’ll write out a manifestation I’d like to see come to fruition over the next few weeks as the moon becomes full, in alignment with my highest good. I put this writing on my alter and then burn it on the full moon. Sometimes I pull an oracle card or two for the moon cycle, asking for the best possible place to put my intention and action.

This season, I’m reviving an old practice—I’ll walk out to the place on my land that is my sanctuary, my “working space”. I’ll rattle, sing and commune with the spirits of the Moon, the Land, and all of my Allies. I’ll ask how we can work symbiotically for the highest and greatest good, and bring each other to our highest, greatest potential.

Each one of us have our own way of celebrating, communicating and growing into our spiritual best. What are the changes you’ll make in this new season to honor the rhythm of your soul and nature?

A new 15 Minutes of Love will be posted on YouTube on Wednesday evening, New Years Day!

November 30th 2024 New Moon Musings

The moon is new on November 30th  at 10:21 pm  and Full on December 15th at 01:01 am in the Pacific time zone. All times taken from https://www.timeanddate.com/moon/phases/

This is the second New Moon in November (11/1 and 11/30) December’s New Moon will be on 12/30/2024

First of all, I want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement. I’m so blessed to hold the space of peace, love and expansion, as well as facilitate healing on behalf of this planet, for others and myself. This connection is my joy.

Every year Thanksgiving Day in the US is the fourth Thursday in November. Because November first fell on a Friday this year, it made the fourth Thursday the last week of November. I don’t know about you, but this late holiday makes the Christmas/Holiday season seem very compressed to me. There seems an urgency to get through this year.

Over the years my family has had to change the day we celebrate our holidays due to shift work. I worked many years in a hospital or hospice and my husband worked as a paramedic/firefighter. Both of us worked many holidays; this never got in the way of celebrating, we never made it about a calendar day.

As I was reminiscing about holidays past, when my children were young and my extended family was mostly in one place, an interesting thought came to me; what if we didn’t celebrate holidays by the calendar?

National, religious and secular holidays are culturally ingrained in us from the time we’re born. I grew up in a more spiritual and secular, than religious household; Santa and the Easter Bunny were more prevalent than stories of the birth of Christ or the resurrection, though we were taught the Christian foundation of these holidays through Edgar Casey’s, Association for Research and Enlightenment, vacation bible school and church youth groups.

In my childhood we spent many holidays with big family dinners and celebrations, but sometimes just our family of five and my maternal grandparents gathered. Independence Day was also my grandfather’s birthday and was as important in our family as Christmas. But, to get back to my pondering; what would life feel like if as a society we didn’t celebrate these major holidays? Would we still gather for special meals, to exchange gifts, and create family traditions? Would we send messages and cards to express our gratitude for each other? I’d like to think we would choose to gather together.

It’s been my experience that holy days and sacred celebrations must be created and cherished, not just observed because a calendar says it’s time. What the calendar and cultural traditions have given me, is an opportunity for a shared experience a few days each year; a special meal with family and friends, a chance to celebrate each other and take a break from day-to-day life. Even without the calendar, the change of seasons provides a rhythm and flow for life, and a pull to celebrate the gift’s given by our Creator and the Earth.

My wish for myself, and for you, is to choose to set aside time each day to nourish and rest, to be of service and experience childlike wonder.  I want to make time to gather frequently with family and friends to celebrate the gift of being together—without the need for a “holiday”. Let’s step outside of time, let the world stop for a little while, and savor our personal and Divine connections.

The next 15 Minutes of Love video will be posted on Wednesday December 4th. I’ll be taking the rest of the month off to rest and have some inward and family time. The next New Moon will be on December 30th and will be a wonderful time to plant new seeds for the coming year.

With Love,

Deborah
